Socks can be better

Imagine the world in which no needs socks; I know socks seem like a clothing item you might not think about as being an important part of your wardrobe. What if your socks were invisible while supporting your foot? Or how about a pair of socks that coordinate with your outfit or add a hint of color? Well, the people at Bombas thought real hard about why shoes have changed over the years, but socks had not. They have created better socks for us that also gives back. Take a minute to read over Bombas webiste and learn why their socks are superior to the ones you might be wearing right now. I’ll, of course, give you a peek at the way they have changed socks for the protections and comfort of your foot: extra long staple cotton, performance footbed, stay up technology, blister tab, Y-stiched heel, honeycomb support system, and maybe my favorite one, the invisitoe (no toe seam). When you put on these socks your feet will thank you. The extra long staple cotton makes them so extra soft, almost as soft as LuLaRoe leggings. They hug your foot in the arc (honeycomb support system). Like I mentioned, what was most impressed by was the fact that there is not seam around the toes, so there is not a line on my feet when I take them off after a day of wearing them. Now, like most well-made items, you pay a bit more; a pair of socks costs $12. Know that the more you buy at Bombas, the more you will save. The first Bombas socks I bought were the solid mixed no-show four pack which provided me a pair of black, white, tan and gray; they cost me $45. I was hoping they would not show with my TOMS as I don’t have comfortable no-show socks for them yet, but they show just a bit at the corners. I am happy that I purchased the colors I did because those are the colors of my go-to TOMS, so I still wear them together as the Bombas socks are way more comfortable than my other no-show socks. Now, if only they can make some that don’t show with my TOMS or ballerina flats I would be a super happy completely satisfied customer. I have begun running again, so the next set for me will be the bright ankle eight-pack and those will run me a $86.

Why am I willing to pay so much for a pair(s) of socks? Well, Bombas socks are not only superiorly made socks, but they also have a purpose behind them. While for many of us socks are an accessory, for many it is a piece of their wardrobe that is vital. Imagine trying to walk around the town in a pair of socks that have holes in the and not get sore; impossible. Bombas founders learned that socks are the number one requested item from homeless shelters and they decided to do something about it. Take a minute and watch their video explaining their original goal of giving away 1 millions pairs of socks in ten years. They have surpassed that goal and have donated 3 million pairs in less than ten years. Bombas is a one-for-one company, so every pair you purchase gives a pair to a homeless shelter in the United States. They have partners in all 50 states and if your company works with people who are homeless, then you should sign up and partner with Bombas. One of the coolest things about Bombas is that they created socks specifically for people who are homeless. The socks they give away are darker in color, have anti-microbial treatment, and reinforced seems. These three things mean that they don’t need to be washed as often, prevent the growth of fungus, and are more durable.

How cool is Bombas?! Now go get some socks that help someone out! We should all switch to support when we have the opportunity. I’m not saying buy all your socks from them, even though that would be totally cool even if you just do it once, then you might spend a bit more money than normal (or not), but you would be supporting someone else. Think how much nicer our world would be if we all helped each other out when we could. Don’t you want to help make it a better, nicer place? “Bee Better” and buy Bombas socks. 🙂

I was first exposed to the items at Thistle Farms a while ago by my bestest friend, Sarah. We are both from the Nashville area where Thistle Farms is located. Sarah still lives in Nashville, while I have moved to the biggest city in the south, Atlanta. This past year I was reintroduced to Thistle Farms through my friend Amy who gave us the lip balm and soap from Thistle Farms as our hostess gifts for her baby shower.

I love the products and the purpose behind the company even more! You should try them out for yourself and then give the products as gifts! Check it out here http://www.thistlefarms.org

Banded: the helping headbands and hair ties

Would you like some accessories for your head? You know you already own some. You know, a piece that adds a little bling, color or just keeps your hair in place. Well, I have the headbands and hair ties for you! Banded is the company you should switch to for your hair needs. http://www.banded2gether.com The bestest part is that every headband or hair ties you purchase provide THREE MEALS to a child in Uganda!

I purchased a skinny one in solid black,  a 1′ fight like a girl and a wide headband to try out the size my head prefers, plus some ties to start off with for my hair. I am all about the skinny and 1′. Next I will purchase a flower or luxe (they sparkle) headband; I just can’t decide which I want more. They have felt on the back of them so they don’t slip off your head. These are perfect presents for all my nieces who twirl during dance or need a perfect match for the perfect outfit. They are so cool that they can fit any size head. Seriously. I was wearing my black one and my 10-year-old niece loves headbands and wasn’t feeling so hot, so I gave her the one I was wearing. Fit her perfectly too.  They have some Patton pending things going on in the company. Even better, if you have an occasion you would like one made for, then they can help you out with that too or if you would like to purchase wholesale for you boutique then they are the company you need!!! It is always a plus for me when I can give someone a present or purchase something for myself that gives for the greater good.

So join me and switch where you purchase your hair bands and hair ties to support the children of Uganda.

the Mocha club and fashionABLE

Do you need or want a scarf, jewelry, tote, wallet, blanket, clutch, etc? If so shop at fashionABLE or the Mocha Club store! Purchase items which will add stares, compliments, and color to your wardrobe and house! Switch where you shop to support a cause!!!

The first companies I will promote are the Mocha club http://www.themochaclub.org and fashionABLE https://livefashionable.com. I can’t talk about one without the other since I had the pleasure of learning about and working with fashionABLE when I went to Africa on a humanitarian trip with the Mocha Club.

Mocha Club raises money through small to large donations to fund projects (clean water, education, economic freedom, orphan care and healthcare) in Africa. They suggest a donation of $7 or what you spend on your normal cup of coffee for a day/week/month. Their small suggested donation reminds you that you can help! Even if you are in high school or college, you can still give a small amount away and IT makes a difference!!!

The first time I heard about the Mocha Club I was home in Nashville, TN visiting family and friends. My friend took me to an art action. The artist had created all the painting pieces based on pictures from a trip with Mocha club. My eyes were captured by a painting of a tree. After looking at that painting for years, I went on a trip with Mocha Club. I learned “I need Africa more than Africa needs me” (a theme for the Mocha Club). The Mocha Club and fashionABLE were started by the same person, Barrett Ward, who saw paths he could maneuver to help others.

fashionABLE is making a difference in Africa by using fashion to able people in support themselves and their families. “They find business parterres who have fair wages and hiring practices for women and strengthen the.” When you purchase from fashionABLE you will be supporting women who are trying to make a better future for themselves and their family. Every item you purchase comes with a tag which tells you about the women who made the item and their story.  “Your purchase of fashionABLE product creates sustainable business in Africa”.

Why not shop where your dollar gives you a gift and supports someone too? Purchase something for yourself, a friend or family member at https://livefashionable.com or your support of the Mocha Club can create Clean Water, educate kids, provide economic freedom or orphan care or healthcare http://www.themochaclub.org .

Why switch?

Well, why not? If you could purchase the same quality or higher quality item while supporting a cause, why would you not?
My purpose for creating this page is my deep desire to help humanity. To make the world a better place. To help those who want a better life for themselves and their family achieve that goal. To make more smiles by helping people create the world in which we all live the best life possible. A life where we help and support one another in our goals and dreams.
